Woman Arrested For Bringing Loaded Gun To Court

A 65-year-old woman was arrested after she set off the metal detectors at the 38th District Court in Eastpointe. While setting off the alarms is a common occurrence, this time the cause of the alarms was a loaded .38 revolver in her purse. It is reported that the woman forgot about the gun when she went through security yesterday and officers do not believe she intended to harm anyone. However, the gun was not registered and the woman does not have a license to carry a weapon. Furthermore, police allegedly found oxycodone and codeine in her purse. The woman was scheduled to be arraigned today and charges of illegally carrying a handgun and prescription drugs.
