Chelsea Shoplifting On The Rise

Throughout the month of December, the Chelsea police responded to a number of shoplifting complaints in the 300 block and 1200 block of Main Street .  During the most recent incident on December 16th, a 28-year-old man was caught by store security trying to steal liquor as he walked out of a store.  Two days earlier, a 22-year-old woman stole a bottle of rum and cosmetic products from the same store.  Two more incidents occurred on December 10^th and December 8^th.  According to police, they are unsure why the specific stores have been targeted, especially since so many attempts were unsuccessful.
