Man Charged In Sparkler Bomb Explosion
In October, a "sparkler bomb" blew up in an open field in Ypsilanti. On Wednesday, 25-year-old Garret Karl Fritz was arraigned in the 14A-1 District Court on charges of possessing a dangerous weapon and manufacturing explosives in connection with that explosion. No one was injured in the explosion however, small pieces of shrapnel were scattered in the field where the bomb went off. It is being reported that Fritz allegedly confessed to building the bomb, but claims that he did not have any malicious intent.
