North Carolina Woman Charged In Livonia Murder
Julia Ann Hopwood, a teacher at Central
Piedmont
Community College in
Charlotte, North Carolina
, was arraigned Sunday on murder charges in the death of Amy Chesbro. Police allege that Hopwood drove more than 600 miles from her home in
Charlotte
to Chesbro’s place of employment where she waited 45 minutes before shooting Chesbro several times. It is being reported that witnesses in the office building heard gunshots and saw the shooter leave in a black vehicle on northbound
Victor Parkway
. They called the police with a description of the car and Hopwood was pulled over within minutes. Police have reported that Hopwood knew Chesbro and was related to Chesbro’s roommate however, no motive has yet been disclosed. Hopwood is being held without bond and will return to court on December 28th.
