Three Men Arraigned On Botched Drug-Related Robbery In Madison Heights
Three men accused in a botched drug-related robbery at a Madison Heights motel - one of whom allegedly fired six times at a pursuing police sergeant - were arraigned today in 43rd District Court on charges of assault, cocaine possession, firearms possession during a felony and fleeing the police. The incident is being reported as a narrowly foiled armed robbery that began as a drug deal, and which was detected just in time by its intended victim after his female escort reportedly made cell phone calls to direct a trio of would-be attackers.
The alleged shooter is being charged with one count of assault with intent to murder, punishable by up to life in prison; two counts of possessing a firearm while committing a felony, and of being a felon in possession of a firearm, with bond set at $2,500,000; An accomplice is being charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm-second offense - both five-year felonies - and with cocaine possession, a four-year felony, with bond set at $1,500,00; The alleged getaway driver is being charged with fleeing police - a five-year felony - and with operating a vehicle on a suspended license, a 93-day misdemeanor, with bond set at $105,000.
