Officers Seize Crack Cocaine And Marijuana
Officers allegedly had a warrant to search a home in the 700 block of
Fourth Street
in
Jackson
. As they approached the home early Thursday night, a suspect ran into the duplex. It is being reported that officers went after him and caught him attempting to flush some rocks of crack cocaine down the toilet. The officers recovered the drugs by kicking the toilet so that the flushed drugs came back to the surface of the toilet bowl. In total, the Jackson Narcotics Team, with the assistance of the Jackson Police Department, found about 22 grams of cocaine and about a pound of marijuana. All of the drugs were reportedly wrapped individually for sale.
Letting a Michigan drug crimes lawyerreview your case is one of the most important things you can do. You need someone on your side in court. By conducting an independent investigation, your lawyer may discover that law enforcement actually did not conduct a valid search and that the evidence obtained during that search may be inadmissible. This alone would greatly impact a case. You have the right to be protected from an unlawful search and seizure by law enforcement personnel. You also have the right to legal counsel in the face of any criminal charges, and this includes drug crimes.
