Children Caught Shoplifting
An employee at Kohl's on Grand River reportedly watched two girls, age 9 and 10, take purses, remove the tags, and fill them with store merchandise. The employee then allegedly watched the girls walk around the store and enter the men's fitting rooms. They then left the store and never attempted to pay for any of the items. The employee caught up with them outside and brought them back into the store. Police claim the children admitted to stealing the items and that they went into the store with that intention. It is being reported that the 10-year-old took almost $350 worth of merchandise while the 9-year-old took approximately $260 worth of items. The children were taken to their homes and turned over to their parents.
