Shoplifter Arrested in Burton
It is being reported that on February 25th, a loss prevention employee at a Rite Aid in Burton watched a woman conceal makeup and then try to leave the store without paying. When the employee approached the woman, she allegedly pushed the employee in the chest and tried to run but the two of them fell to the ground and the employee lay on top of the woman until police arrived. The woman allegedly admitted to stealing $24 in makeup and assaulting the employee. Police took the woman to the Genesee County Jail and Burton police say she will be charged with
unarmed robbery rather than
retail fraud due to the use of physical force in trying to get away.
