Woman Arrested For OWI After Calling Police To Help Friend

A Grand Blanc woman reportedly called the police to come to the aid of her friend indicating that as she was driving her car her friend, a 58-year-old woman from Lake Leelanau, jumped out of the car.  When police went to check on the friend's welfare, the friend allegedly reported that the driver had an open beer in the car so she got out.  As police were questioning the friend, the suspect driver drove by and was stopped by the police.  It is being alleged that the driver showed signs of intoxication but denied drinking.  She then allegedly failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level of 0.17.  The woman was then arrested for operating while intoxicated.
