Suspect Found Transporting Drugs to Another State
Another Auburn man, the second within a few months, was found transporting marijuana in a different state.
The most recent suspect, a 30-year-old man, was discovered by Michigan police to be carrying 14 pounds of bagged marijuana, illegal steroids and prescription drugs. Police had originally pulled him over for speeding, and discovered the drugs in his possession. According to Capt. Matthew Saxton, a sheriff"s drug-sniffing canine was brought to the scene to determine the presence of drugs. The man had attempted to conceal the drugs in a sleeping bag.
Another man was also in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. He claimed that he owned Green Giant Hydroponics, a medicinal marijuana-growing business in California. The two were travelling from Detroit to California, and had an estimated $60,000 to $80,000 worth of marijuana with them. The two now face charges of possession of illegal steroids, possession of prescription narcotics and delivering marijuana.
