Convicted Felon Found with Firearm

This week Tuesday, police released a report announcing a felony arrest. According to the report, officers were able to detain a felon who was in possession of a firearm. In Michigan, it is illegal for convicted felons to carry guns.

Law enforcement officers say that they were called to a local residence at approximately 8:00 PM after they received reports that a man had a gun on his body. Once they arrived at the residence, police recognized the 32-year-old man and realized that he was in fact a convicted felon. They arrested him after taking away his .38 caliber handgun.

Aside from the weapon, police say the man was also in possession of Xanax without a prescription. He was placed under arrest and was transported to jail. Now, he is facing charges of felon in possession of a handgun, which could result in jail time if he is convicted.
