29-Year-Old Charged With Open Murder That Occurred During Robbery

It is being reported that Byron Coney, along with 2 other men, tried to rob a man at his home in Lansing . It is being alleged that during the course of a fight or scuffle, gun shots were fired and the homeowner, as well as one of the assailants, was shot. The assailant was reportedly killed and the other two ran off. Police caught up with Coney and he has been charged with open murder, conspiracy to commit robbery/armed, assault with intent to rob while armed, assault with intent to murder. Police are still trying to track down the third man. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled.
